The Gibraltar Cultural Services, for the Ministry of Culture has announced the programme of events for this year’s Festival of Lights on Friday 20th November 2015. The events are being organised by the Gibraltar Cultural Services and the Gibraltar Electricity Authority (GEA) and shall be held at John Mackintosh Square.
The entertainment will be presented by Christian Santos and commences at 6pm with live music, song and dance. The switching-on of the Christmas Lights at 7pm will be conducted by the Minister of Sports, Culture, Heritage and Youth, the Hon Steven Linares, His Worship the Mayor Adolfo Canepa OBE GMH as well as Catia Rodriguez and Jesse Dos Santos from St Martin’s School. Father Christmas and his elves will also be making a special appearance.

5.30pm to 7.30pm Art and Crafts Market
Mulled wine, port and mince pies
6pm Performances by the Santos Choir, Mediterranean Dance School
and Transitions Dance Academy
6.30pm St Bernard’s Middle School Choir
7pm Video Presentation and Switch-on Christmas Lights ceremony
7.13pm Father Christmas special appearance
7.15pm Sea Scouts Pipe & Drum Band
Following the switching-on ceremony, the illuminations will thereafter come on, automatically, every day until the 6th January 2016, from 5.00pm until 1.00am, and as from 9.30am on Saturdays leading to Christmas Day. As customary they will remain on throughout the nights of Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and the 5th January 2016. The organisers invite as many families as possible to attend.
