COMMONWEALTH DAY 2017

 

SHORT STORY COMPETITION

 

 

The Ministry of Culture, in conjunction with Gibraltar Cultural Services, The Department of Education and with the support of the Gibraltar Chronicle, will hold a Short Story Competition to commemorate Commonwealth Day.

 

The competition is open to both Gibraltarians and residents of Gibraltar who may submit one piece of work. The theme for the competition is ‘A Peace-Building Commonwealth’ or any subject related to the Commonwealth. .

 

There will be three categories as follows:

                       

                        A.  School Years 4 to 5       (250 – 350 words)

                        B.  School Years 6 to 7       (350 – 450 words)

                        C.  School years 8 to 13      (500 – 1000 words)

                       

The winning entries will be printed in the Gibraltar Chronicle. The winners will receive the Ministry of Culture prize of a £50 voucher, a pen and a Trophy.

Works may be handed in at the Gibraltar Cultural Services, John Mackintosh Hall, 308 Main Street between 9.30am to 7.30pm, Monday to Friday.
