Leni’s Curiosity Cabinet

Leni's Curiosity Cabinet offers an intimate glimpse into the life and creativity of Leni Mifsud. This eclectic collection includes personal items, some handmade, others gifted, each with a story of its own, no doubt important to the artist. Among them are small, framed paintings likely sold to fund her art studies, a well-travelled suitcase covered in stickers, and a painted plate reflecting her habit of turning everyday objects into art. Also on display are printing blocks marked E. Sousa, a pseudonym Leni often used on her postcards. She adopted the name to perhaps conceal her identity, due to her father's disapproval of her studying art or societal expectations of single women at the time..
