Who am I? Finlayson suggests the question with an inquisitive sharp look. A self portrait with an almost neutral expression, although he engages the viewer directly with his stare. A self portrait can be a confrontation for the artist as they scrutinise themselves as a subject matter. Although Mario captures his physical likeness he chooses to create a serious impression of himself which does not represent his warm manner and amicable nature.
