About The Sovereign Art Foundation
The Sovereign Art Foundation (SAF) is a charity founded in 2003 in Hong Kong, which is now also registered in the UK, Singapore, Guernsey and South Africa. SAF runs the annual Sovereign Asian Art Prize with the purpose of raising money to help disadvantaged children. Since its inception, SAF has raised over US$5 million for charities and artists worldwide, funding projects using art as education, rehabilitation and therapy. The Sovereign Asian Art Prize is now in its 13th year and is the biggest, best known and most prestigious arts prize in the Asia region.
Sovereign Art Foundation Students Prizes
The Sovereign Art Foundation Students Prizes aim to celebrate the importance of art in the education system and recognise the quality of art produced by young students across the world. The Sovereign Art Foundation Students Prize Hong Kong, now in its fifth year, invites teachers from Hong Kong secondary schools to nominate their best art students to enter the prize. University students may self-nominate. After two rounds of judging, both online and in person, the Top 20 Finalist’s works are exhibited at The Affordable Art Fair Hong Kong, where the public are invited to vote on their favourite piece. SAF has now established additional Students Prizes in Guernsey, Bahrain, Singapore, Mauritius, Portugal, the Isle of Man and Gibraltar.
