Wellington Front, a historic promenade, spans a considerable length as part of the Line Wall Curtain. Situated on the grounds where the ancient city wall was originally constructed during the Moorish era and later modified by the Spanish and British, it now serves as a hub for various establishments overseen by GCS. Additionally, this remarkable location is available for booking, accommodating a wide range of events and activities. The original Moorish wall, constructed without advanced fortifications to safeguard against bombardment or assault, revealed its vulnerabilities as early as 1770. Consequently, measures were undertaken in the 1840s to rectify these weaknesses, resulting in the construction of Prince Albert’s and Wellington Front. These additions effectively enhanced and reinforced the alignment of the curtain wall, transforming the area into a vibrant promenade.
